Ensenada
boasts a vibrant entertainment scene. From fine dining,
exquisite art galleries, lively night spots and loads of
locally inspired events throughout the year. Ensenada truly
has something for everyone.
Ensenada
is famous for its romantic places to eat, and a popular
destination to experience a relaxed and tolerant nightlife.
On Saturday evenings the streets are filled with everyone
from local residents to all of the visitors.
Most of
the hotels offer some type of night time entertainment and
there are many night clubs for dancing and enjoying the
south of the border atmosphere.
Ensenada
has become popular for its party town atmosphere, and with
regular stops by cruise ships and many other tourists there
is always something happening in Ensenada.
The
most famous and popular evening haunt is
Papas & Beer. A tiny entrance leads to the upstairs bar
and dance club. The music is loud and the hip young crowd is
definitely here to party. Papas & Beer has quite a
reputation with the Southern California college crowd
If you
want to do more than lie around the pool and soak up some
rays, you will find plenty of things to do in Ensenada.
You can
take a tour of the town in a horse drawn buggy, go on a day
trip to La Bufadora (a natural blow hole by the sea which
shoots water into the air like a geyser), go to the beach
and swim, go for a horseback ride, rent a jet ski, tour the
harbor in a boat, go dancing in one of the
Ensenada night clubs, or relax between shops at one of
the fine
Ensenada restaurants.
You will
find that Ensenada has plenty of places to shop, but since
the
Ensenada cruise ships began to come on a regular basis,
most of the larger shops know that the tourists have money
and they are a lot less likely to bargain with you over
price than in Tijuana.
So
if you are shopping in Ensenada for bargains, your best bet
is to stick to the small shops, street vendors, or take a
walk up to the stores in the Mexican section around Juarez
Street and shop where the locals do.
There is
also plenty of action for sports enthusiasts including game
fishing, diving, snorkeling, golf, sailing, kayaking,
hiking, cycling and a myriad of other sports.
The
people in Ensenada are extremely friendly and always extend
a welcome greeting to “gringos” (the local term for
tourists)… for a true adventure nothing can beat Ensenada. |
